Lauren Roche’s mixed-media works inhabit and invite the ambiguously eerie, dreamlike, and mythic. Her dense compositions frequently pair female figures and animal counterparts in domestic settings lush with vegetation and portals to the unknown.
Roche’s solo exhibitions at Bockley Gallery include Collected Vessels (2018) and Silent Partner (2016). She has exhibited in group exhibitions at Material Art Fair in Mexico City; Eritage Art Projects in Lisbon; Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia; Nemeth Art Center in Park Rapids, Minnesota; and Hair + Nails in Minneapolis, among other venues. Roche is a recipient of a Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters & Sculptors Grant (2018) and Jerome Emerging Artist Fellowship (2012–2013). Notable public collections include Minneapolis Institute of Art and North Dakota Museum of Art.
Roche lives and works between St. Louis, Missouri, and rural Minnesota.
