Eric-Paul Riege Receives Joan Mitchell Fellowship

Eric-Paul Riege is one of fifteen US-based artists to receive the Joan Mitchell Fellowship.  Awarded annually to artists working in painting and sculpture, funds are distributed over the course of five years, alongside professional development and cohort gatherings. Riege will participate in the fifth cohort of fellows since the Joan Mitchell Foundation reimagined its grant-giving in 2021 to provide lasting support to artists.

Riege’s upcoming major solo exhibition ojo|-|ólǫ́ opens at the David Winton Bell Gallery at Brown University on September 3, 2025. Co-organized by the Bell and the Henry Art Gallery at the University of Washington, the exhibition will be accompanied by a scholarly publication, as well as an opening performance and reception on September 18. The exhibition remains on view at the Bell through December 7, and will be open at the Henry in from March 14 through August 30, 2026.
