Untitled (clouds) 2016-19

Bockley Gallery’s fall exhibition features a monumental triptych by celebrated Minneapolis artist, Stuart Nielsen. Created over three years, Untitled (clouds) 2016–19 dominates a single gallery wall with each of its three oil on canvas panels measuring 105 x 63 inches that collectively provide an immersive viewing experience. A series of oil on paper studies, available for viewing by request, serve as an absorbing record of Nielsen’s intense exploration of multiple compositional and color variations that would ultimately coalesce into the final work.
