The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation has named Dyani White Hawk as one of 188 2024 Guggenheim Fellows, including artists, scientists, scholars, and writers. “Humanity faces some profound existential challenges,” said Guggenheim Foundation president Edward Hirsch, who went on to say that the current fellows are “meeting these challenges head-on and generating new possibilities and pathways across the broader culture as they do so.” White Hawk is one of three Minnesotan artists who received the honor, alongside author David Mura and painter Lamar Peterson.
